RHANDERS TV DOCUMENTARY

Join us behind the scenes, up close and personal, when the new TV documentary on Rina and RHANDERS: Craftsmanship and Passion airs on DK4 in June 2024.

RINA'S PERSONAL JOURNEY

Get a close look at how owner Rina Hansen grew up amongst horses on the small family farm, how her passion for design evolved, and how she travelled the world to work within luxury fashion in Australia, America and England over more than 10 years.

ARE YOU BORN WITH A PASSION?

The TV documentary dives into the question of passion, where it stems from, how the fire is ignited and how it is unfolded into action and creation.

And, the big question: why RHANDERS?

THE 800 YEAR HISTORY OF RHANDERS

Feel the breath of history when the camera takes you
through the fairytale of RHANDERS. From the Kalmus flower magic that started in 1250 through to today.

THE SUCCESSION PLAN

You will meet Arne Vejrum, the previous owner of the company, whom handed over the keys to Rina after 11 years of courtisation. The Vejrum family was the fourth family in the owner family tree and had the company on their hands for 97 years.

Arne is still involved in the company, specifically in terms of safeguarding the honored craftsmanship principles and traditions.

THE DESIGN PROCESS TODAY

Rina takes the viewer around the store to show the various famously butter-soft products and tells the design story of the iconic gloves.

Some gloves have been in the collection for more than 80 years, and these beloved, iconic styles have lend direct inspiration to bags, belts and jewellery today.

THE DESIGNS FROM THE DOCUMENTARY

THE MAN BEHIND THE WOMAN

The TV documentary goes deep and private by visiting
Rina and her husband Thomas in their home. Thomas shares how he discovered the article ‘Denmark’s answer to Gucci’ in 2007 and sent it to Rina in London – in part to convince her to return to Denmark with a life mission (and a husband).

RECHARGING IN RHANDERS FOREST

On a rainy afternoon the TV crew followed Rina and her
Samoyed dog to the RHANDERS forest. Here they discussed the purpose of the
forest – for recharging, for teaching her twin girls to care for nature, for
being CO2 positive, for biodiversity and the environment.
