As Royal Run brings life, community, and celebration to Randers on May 25th, 2026, RHANDERS opens the doors at Torvegade 12 for a very special experience for both locals and visitors.
From 10 AM to 4 PM, RHANDERS invites guests to enjoy complimentary bubbles, guided tours of the museum, and a living story of more than 800 years of Danish craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and royal history.
As a gift to the city and the many guests visiting during Royal Run, admission is free for everyone - including children - and no registration is required.
Experience the glove worn by King Frederik X at the coronation
Among the highlights of the day is the opportunity to see the iconic white glove worn by His Majesty King Frederik X during the coronation.
The glove is exhibited as part of the story of RHANDERS’ close relationship with the Danish Royal Family - a connection spanning generations and continuing today, as RHANDERS proudly serves as Royal Court Supplier to King Frederik X, Queen Mary, and the Danish Royal Household.
A story that began in the 1250s
With roots dating back to the 1250s and officially founded in 1811, RHANDERS is regarded as the world’s oldest and finest glove maker.
For centuries, the company has crafted gloves and leather goods for royal courts and cultural figures across Europe.
Princess Dagmar continued purchasing gloves from Randers even after becoming Tsarina of Russia, while Queen Marie Antoinette of France reportedly requested gloves from Randers for their exceptionally soft feel and the distinctive fragrance of the calamus flower - a unique signature of gloves from Randers.
Today, the craftsmanship continues through the creation of gloves for, among others, The Royal Life Guards, the police, and the navy.
“Royal Run is also about opening the doors to our cultural heritage”
For RHANDERS, the day is not only about sport and celebration, but also about inviting people closer to the cultural heritage and craftsmanship the company has preserved for generations.
“For us, Royal Run is also about community, history, and opening the doors to the cultural heritage we are so proud to preserve. We look forward to welcoming both the city and guests from across the country into the story of RHANDERS,” says owner and CEO Rina Hansen.
TV2 broadcasts live from RHANDERS during Royal Run
During Royal Run, RHANDERS will also be part of the national TV2 live coverage, broadcasting directly from the store at 10:20 AM.
Viewers will be invited into the story of RHANDERS’ royal heritage, the craftsmanship behind the iconic gloves, and the specially exhibited coronation glove worn by King Frederik X.
Guests visiting the store will also experience the museum, historical artefacts, and the story of a cultural legacy that has lived on for more than 800 years.
Among the historical treasures is the company’s craftsmanship seal from 1684, granted by royal decree and later trademark-registered in 1896 - believed to be Denmark’s oldest registered trademark. A powerful symbol of a craft and a history that continues to live on today.
Where Royal Run meets craftsmanship and history
Royal Run is not only about movement through the city - it is also about encountering the stories, places, and traditions that make Denmark unique.
At RHANDERS, Royal Run becomes an opportunity to open the doors to a living story of hands, craftsmanship, and history spanning more than eight centuries.
